Dirt. So much dirt. Who did what, who said what, who saw what, felt what…..on and on it goes. There is dirt on our shoes, in our hair and on our hands. It filters into our homes, our families and our lives. Our work zones are full of dirt, so much so that it’s hard to stay clean!
Dirt. It comes in all kinds of ways, shapes and forms. It can start with a little bit of sand, just a grain sometimes. Then it spreads and overflows and occasionally turns into mud. Sometimes the dirt is heavy and suffocating while other times it’s a light film that covers everything. We can sweep it, shovel it, bulldoze it or even ignore it, but it’s still there.
Dirt. Everyone has it. Sometimes it makes us feel ok because everyone else has it, we are not unique in this way. We may even feel like “oh, their dirt is dirtier than mine” or “my dirt isn’t the bad kind”. Maybe we feel like ours is “cleaner” dirt. We throw dirt sometimes, then we soon find out that someone else always throws it back, maybe even more of it.
Dirt. We really like to talk about it, even when we feel dirtier having done so. If we could just figure out how to keep our dirt to ourselves then we could stop making everything dirtier. The fact remains though that dirt will always be here. In your life, my life and everyone’s life. It’s what we choose to do with the dirt that matters. Forgive yourself of the dirt that belongs to you, keep it tidy and certainly try not to make more! Allow others to attend to their own dirt, it’s not yours, but theirs to spread, if they so choose.
If you would like to get out of the spiral of all the dirt, to be able to see the world in a different light, let’s work on it together!
