
What are you looking for? Do you try to figure out what is wrong or what is right with you, them, situations? Think about this for just a moment, really think about it. We can all find fault and negativity without much thought and it feels much harder to find the positive at times. I just listened to a talk done by Mike Dooley. He is a really good speaker and uplifting metaphysical teacher. In this particular talk he was referencing the ways we fail to find the good stuff in all “our” stuff.
Now I am paraphrasing what the gist of this talk was about but in a nut shell I will surmise what I took form it. Mike said that we often times fall into the trap of trying to figure out what’s wrong instead of what we can do to just move forward. This made so much sense to me. In todays world there is a diagnosis for literally EVERYTHING! If you are struggling to get your shhhh….stuff together, you have two options. Option one is to seek the help of a professional and figure out what is wrong with you! Now, there is a time and place for this no doubt, however have you tried option two first?
Option two is to change your thoughts about looking for what’s wrong and look for what is right. What can you change right now to make it better? What can you change in a week? A month? A Year? Little by little you may discover that what you have been doing is looking at all the faults, shortcomings and mishaps as a set and true defect when in reality these are all, most likely, changeable.
Is something that happened to you many years ago still dictating how you live your life today? Would you like to move on from this title, label or feeling that holds you back? Are you a certain “type” of person due to circumstances and that’s why you have not obtained all of the goals you desired? Are you feeling like luck has everything to do with miracles? Do you think you have nothing to do with your luck or changing it?
Wow! So many things to cover! There are measurable, actual things that will change your mind in a very short period of time if these descriptions ring true to you. If healing is holding you back, tragedy in your past, belief systems that dictate what’s “supposed” to be, you have the power to change all of it. Wouldn’t it feel better to feel better?!
Try one simple trick right now and see how it feels. Think of someone you are upset with and picture a conversation with that person and this time it just didn’t bother you. Doesn’t matter what they say, see yourself just shrugging it off and smiling to yourself because there is no power in a conversation that does not effect you. Imagine walking away from this person feeling happy and not frustrated or angry. This might take a couple tries to accomplish but I promise you that once you can accomplish this, you may be surprised that the next time you actually do have that conversation or one like it, you will feel the calm way you practiced and you’ll realize you have the power to do anything you set your mind to. Start looking for that, peace!
